More than 100 "rare and one-of-a-kind" handbags have been stolen from a home in Cheshire, police have said.

Officers said the victim did not want to disclose the value of the stolen items, which included several unique Hermes handbags and a gold watch.

However, they are offering a £10,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone connected to the burglary, police said.

Police were called to the home in Macclesfield Road, Alderley Edge on 24 February. Offenders used a ladder to enter through a skylight between 7pm and 11pm, police confirmed.

Police said they believe the incident took place a week earlier and have asked anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.

"The same goes for anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV which might aid our investigation," Det Sgt Laura Fox, of Macclesfield CID, said.

"We also want to hear from anyone who thinks they may have information regarding the whereabouts of the items that were stolen."
