King's Coronation medals of recognition have been given to 13 members of Jersey's Coastguard.

A total of 400,000 medals will be given to armed forces, frontline emergency service workers and people who took part in the ceremony.

Jersey recipients include the harbour master Bill Sadler who is the chief Coastguard.

Eligible members of Jersey's airport rescue and fire fighting services are due to receive their medals later this year.

Members of the emergency services had to have completed five years' continued service by the date of the Coronation on 6 May 2023, to receive a medal.

Made of nickel silver, the medals have the royal cypher on one side and images of the King and Queen Consort on the other.

Coronation medals are a tradition dating back to 1603, when James I was crowned.
