Trains services on a route through Surrey have been disrupted due to flooding on the tracks.

South Western Railway said it was unable to operate services between Ash and Guildford.

The disruption is expected to last until 15:00 BST.

Passengers are being advised to expect longer journey times and that tickets will be accepted on local buses.

There are flood alerts in place across Surrey following heavy rain overnight.

The Environment Agency (EA) has issued warnings for Chertsey Bourne and River Blackwater and Cove Brook.

Flood alerts, which mean flooding is possible and people should prepare for it, were also issued in Kent, for Rivers Eden, Eden Brook and Kent Ditch from Blindley Heath to Penshurst including Edenbridge and Hever.

Another alert was in place for the River Bourne from Hadlow to East Peckham, including Golden Green and Little Mill.

The EA said river levels were rising as a result of heavy rainfall, but that property flooding was not expected.
