New nursing home 'on track' to open next year
Work is progressing at the site of a new £6m nursing home in Staffordshire, a local authority has said.
Set to open in early 2025, the 33-bedroom home in Coronation Court, Cannock, is designed to provide specialist care for adults with complex needs.
In addition to the residential rooms, the home will offer communal dining and living areas, sensory bathrooms, an activities hub, a therapy room, a hair salon and an accessible garden.
The council said the new three-storey building would feature three ensuite rooms and provide about 100 jobs assisting people living with brain injuries, dementia, mental health conditions, neuro-disabilities, and physical disabilities.
Council leader Tony Johnson said he was "incredibly impressed" with the facility, adding that it would be a "fantastic asset" for the area.
"This facility will also bring a massive jobs boost to the town."
Councillor Maureen Freeman, portfolio holder for regeneration added: "The thought and care that has gone into the design is exceptional."
Construction bosses said the new nursing home was on track for completion in early 2025, while healthcare bosses said the facilities were much-needed.
Deeley Construction was appointed to complete the development, which will be owned and operated by health care provider Exemplar Health Care.
