People have been urged to avoid a hospital's emergency department unless necessary because of long waiting times.

James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston, Norfolk, said its A&E was "really busy" on Tuesday afternoon.

In a video statement published on Facebook, a member of staff said: "If you need us, we are here, but if your problem does not require the emergency department, you may face a very long wait."

The hospital asked patients to consider other NHS services, such as the NHS 111 phone service or their GP.
