A man has died following a road traffic collision in County Armagh on Friday.

The two-vehicle collision happened outside the village of Killylea in County Armagh.

Sarah Duffy, Mayor of Armagh, Banbridge, and Craigavon Borough Council, described what happened as "heartbreaking".

"Christmas is supposed to be such a joyous, happy time for families, and this incident has just rocked our entire community," she said.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends who are facing this pain."

Two bunches of flowers are lying on the side of the road beside a gap in a hedge. Fields, bushes and trees are in the background.

Police have returned to the scene of the collision on the Killylea Road, which has since reopened.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the incident at about 12:48 GMT.
