Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash closed the main A90 road in Aberdeenshire.

The two-vehicle accident happened near Ellon at about 06.25.

The Scottish Ambulance Service said three ambulances and two special operations response teams (SORT) were sent to the scene. Two men were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Police Scotland said the road was closed as a result.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said it was alerted to reports of a collision involving a van and a 4x4.

"Operations control mobilised two fire appliances and firefighters assisted emergency service partners," the SFRS said.
