Rugby posts vandalised at Cornish ground
Vandals have damaged a club's rugby posts by pulling them out of the ground and dumping them on the pitch.
Devon and Cornwall Police said officers received reports of vandalism at Alexandra Way, in Penzance, between Tuesday and Wednesday.
Posts at the ground used by Pirates Amateurs as well as Penzance and Newlyn clubs were dismantled and thrown in a pile on the ground. Anyone with information has been asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police.
A Facebook post from Pirates Amateurs said while the posts had been re-erected, the club was "extremely saddened" by the incident.
Pirates Amateurs added youth games planned for Sunday could go ahead thanks to the efforts of volunteers to restore the posts.
"A monumental thank you to EAP Ltd for sending a repair team of Jody Marr - a club coach - Begazi Geaner, Socarici Valeriu and Daniliuc Ion," a post from the club on Facebook said.
"Thank you to all the members, local residents and clubs throughout Cornwall that offered assistance."
