Woman hit by a lorry while crossing road
A woman has suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a lorry as she crossed the A162 in West Yorkshire.
The 61-year-old pedestrian was struck by a white Scania HGV on the southbound carriageway close to Bubbles car wash in Knottingley at about 08:55 BST.
West Yorkshire Police said the woman had been taken to hospital for treatment.
The road was closed in both directions following the collision but has since reopened.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage of what happened has been asked to contact police.
