Footage captures baby seal pup moments after birth

Seal pup with its mother at Donna Nook

A visitor captured footage of a newborn baby grey seal pup moments after it was born at a Lincolnshire nature reserve.

The big button-eyed, fluffy baby is one of 128 pups to have been born at Donna Nook so far this year.

The coast between North Somercotes and Saltfleet welcomes thousands of seal pups each year from late October to December after hundreds of seals come to the shore to give birth.

About 20 pups are visible from the viewing path and Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust has a list of guidelines on its website to reduce disturbance to the seals.
