The Bristol Light Festival has been bringing large crowds into the city after dark

It is the last day of the Bristol Light Festival 2025, an event which has brought crowds of people to the city centre to see the after-dark attractions.

Talking of after dark, a special show at Bristol Old Vic has been taking audiences through 144 episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer - despite having just one cast member.

At Southmead Hospital, staff turned out to welcome the Princess Royal, and there was a moving ceremony in Knowle West.

Special visit: The Princess Royal returned to the hospital where she was treated after her suspected horse-related accident to thank medical teams for their care. She went to Southmead Hospital on Thursday to reunite with doctors and nurses who looked after her, and tour the building.

One-man show: Audiences at Bristol Old Vic have been entertained by Buffy Revamped, a scaled-down telling of every single episode of the hit US TV series.

A bit of history: This plaque, on the side of what is now retirement flats, notes a bit of Bristol's literary past on the spot where the now demolished Emmanuel Church hosted the wedding of Agatha Miller and Archibald Christie in 1914.

New look: One of north Bristol's biggest leisure centres has unveiled the first stage of a multi-million pound refurbishment. Horfield Leisure Centre has benefitted from investment from Bristol City Council and operator Everyone Active, with a new gym in place and plans for a new soft play area, cafe extension and other improvements.

In memory: Friends and family of Max Dixon and Mason Rist, along with local residents, gathered at The Park Centre in Knowle on Sunday to let off balloons to mark a year since the two friends were murdered. The balloons contained messages for the pair, and wishes for a better future.
