Police van hits man while responding to emergency
A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being hit by a police van in north London.
It happened at about 14:30 BST on Friday on Turnpike Lane in Haringey, near the junction of Alexandra Road.
The marked van was responding to an emergency incident, the Metropolitan Police force said.
The London Ambulance Service said it treated the man at the scene for a head injury, adding "he was taken on blue lights to a major trauma centre".
The Met Police said man's injuries were not life-threatening and no officers needed medical treatment.
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed and inquiries continue, a force spokesperson added.
