Street confrontation ends in sex offence arrest

A man has been arrested on suspicion of sex offences following a confrontation by a large group of people on a residential street.

Officers were called to reports of a disturbance on Martial Road in Nuneaton at about 17:45 BST on Sunday, Warwickshire Police said.

A man, aged 52, and a woman were approached while in a vehicle by a group who became hostile, the force stated.

The male was arrested and remained in custody, added police who said an investigation was under way.
