The Sandbanks chain ferry is out of action for two weeks for a refit.

The ferry, Bramble Bush Bay, crosses between Sandbanks and Shell Bay daily - twice an hour, each way.

The Bournemouth-Swanage Motor Road and Ferry Company said weather permitting the ferry would be undergoing the refit between 5-20 November.

The ferry, which came into service 30 years ago, takes about four minutes to make the crossing, saving motorists a 25-mile (40km) journey by road.
