New chief for men's homelessness charity

A homelessness charity in Jersey has appointed a new chief executive officer.
Sarah Tumelty has been promoted to the Sanctuary Trust role after having been general manager for the charity for the past three years.
Chair of the trust Tim Ringsdore said he was confident Ms Tumelty would help to develop services "so we can ensure we continue to provide the best support possible to those who need it".
The charity is currently supporting 30 men in residential facilities and more than 30 more men in an outreach programme, he added.
Mr Ringsdore said Ms Tumelty's commitment and leadership have been instrumental in expanding the charity's impact, despite growing economic challenges and the difficulty of securing suitable, affordable accommodation.
Sanctuary Trust was set up in 2011 to give emergency accommodation for men facing homelessness.
Since opening its doors, the charity said it has helped more than 350 men who have been at a crisis point in their lives.
