Wildlife centre and school shut due to lack of water

A wildlife centre and a school have closed after a burst water pipe left them without a water supply.
Severn Trent said a pipe had burst on the A38 in Dursley, Gloucestershire, on Tuesday afternoon, leaving "a small number" of homes without water.
Slimbridge Primary School and the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) near Slimbridge closed due to the issue.
Severn Trent said customers in Dursley and Slimbridge should be starting to see water returning after the repair that was "a lot more complex than first anticipated".
Slimbridge Primary School's head teacher Mrs Hillman said: "The school currently has no running water, which impacts our ability to maintain essential health and safety standards for our children and staff."
WWT Slimbridge said it hoped to be back open as soon as possible.
Severn Trent said it would continue delivering bottled water while supplies return to normal.
"We're really sorry for the impact this burst pipe has had," said a spokesperson.
"This has been a complicated repair, and we're incredibly thankful to the local community for their continued patience and understanding."
There is a two-way traffic light system in place on the A38 Bristol road so Severn Trent can provide water from tankers.
