A Tesco store was evacuated following a fire in the branch's customer toilets.
The Tesco Extra on Mill Street in Bedworth, Warwickshire, was closed to shoppers shortly before 18:00 GMT on Thursday.
Warwickshire Police said it was called after Warwickshire Fire Service raised concerns about the cause of the blaze, which was being treated as arson.
A Tesco spokesperson said the chain was assisting the police with inquiries. The BBC has contacted Tesco for confirmation of whether the store has since reopened.
