Three people have been arrested after a large-scale police incident at a school.

Officers were called to Beccles Primary Academy in Ellough Road at about 11:44 GMT after a report that someone was assaulted.

Suffolk Police said one man was arrested on suspicion of threat or possession with intent to commit criminal damage, a second was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, and a woman was held on suspicion of a breach of the peace.

A force spokesperson said no-one was injured.

There would be an increased police presence and "reassurance patrols" in the area, a spokesperson said. Several marked police cars could be seen parked outside.

The reported assault took place outside of the school building, the force added.
