Man suffers serious injuries after car crashes into tree

A man in his 20s is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after crashing into a tree, police have said.
Avon and Somerset Police said the car failed to stop for a marked police car on the A370 near Flax Bourton, Bristol at 02:00 GMT on Wednesday.
The passenger of the car, a black BMW 5 series, was taken to hospital as a precaution, and no other injuries have been reported.
The force re-opened the road, between its junctions with Stancombe Lane and Barrow Street, at 14:00.
Their next of kin have been made aware and are being supported, the force said.
Avon and Somerset Police said a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
Officers have urged anyone with footage or information to contact them.
