Police say thieves used a wheelie bin to help them carry off a large quantity of alcohol stolen from a Highland football club.

Clachnacuddin FC's Grant Street Park in Inverness was broken into between 03:00 and 04:00 on Sunday.

Officers said three males were seen approaching the stadium before later returning to a nearby street.

Two of the people were then seen "struggling" to carry large bags while a third was pulling the bin.

The drinks were taken from the Highland League club's lounge.

A force spokesperson said: "Following the break-in, shortly before 04:00, the males returned along Kilmuir Road in possession of bags which they were struggling to carry.

"One of the suspects is known to have used a wheelie bin to carry items from Benula Road onto Telford Road."

Detectives urged anyone with information or dashcam or CCTV footage to contact them.
