Water company working to fix supply after outages
A water company in Kent says it is urgently working to repair a burst main after 50 homes were left without services overnight.
Residents in Chestfield, near Whitstable, reported low pressure or no water at all from about 14:40 BST on Tuesday.
Water supplies were briefly restored later in the day, but customers complained of low pressure or no water again overnight.
South East Water said water supplies had been restored on Wednesday morning, but customers may still experience outages while it carries out tests.
Andy Bestonthis, the utility's regional operations manager, said: “We’re sorry to the residents in the Chestfield area who had no water or low pressure caused by a burst main.
“We have moved water around the network to ensure customers' water supplies are returned.
“The repair is proving to be quite complex, so we are unable to give a time for when it will be completed.”
Chestfield Road, at the junction with The Drive, is closed while repairs are underway.
Mr Beston said the closure could be in placed for "a few days".
