An airport has announced it will be offering flights to several new destinations for winter.

Bournemouth Airport is adding routes to the Canary Islands, Spain, Majorca, Turkey and Portugal in winter 2025-26.

Run by Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, up to 15 flights will depart weekly from the Dorset site.

It was a "huge vote of confidence" for Bournemouth Airport, its managing director said.

Canary Island destinations include Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura, according to the airport.

Alicante in Spain, Palma in Majorca and Antalya in Turkey were also listed.

Faro and Madeira in Portugal were offered too, with Madeira being an exclusive destination from Bournemouth Airport.

The routes were added following "strong demand" from vacationers, according to Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.

The airline will begin operating out of the airport in April 2025, having previously announced the site as its 12th UK base.

Bournemouth Airport's managing director Steve Gill said the new range of flights was "fantastic news".

"We’re delighted that they have seen such a fantastic response to the launch of their new airport base in March," he added.
