Tram disruption warning as works to take place
Tram services in Nottingham will be disrupted for almost two weeks while improvement works take place.
Tram operator Nottingham Express Transit (NET) said a number of stops between Hyson Green and the city centre will be closed from Tuesday, 2 July to Sunday, 14 July.
No trams will run between The Forest and Old Market Square stops so work can be carried out to the tracks at the High School and Royal Centre tram stops.
A bus replacement service will run instead, with tram services set to resume on Monday, 15 July.
Trams will not run from the following stops while the work takes place:
- The Forest
- High School
- Nottingham Trent University
- Old Market Square
NET said services will continue as normal across the rest of its network.
The replacement bus service will run from 2 July, picking up and dropping off passengers at the The Forest Park and Ride stop and Market Street, next to the Old Market Square tram stop.
Overnight preparation works will commence at the High School tram stop between Sunday, 23 June, and Monday, 1 July, and at the Royal Centre tram stop between Sunday, 16 June and 1 July.
Trevor Stocker, NET head of operations, said: "The track works starting on Tuesday 2 July will be ongoing 24/7, so noise prevention measures will be implemented.
"However, people may experience some noise while the works are taking place, just for a short period of time."
