Two men killed in a fatal collision in Surrey have been named by police.

William Birchard, 21, from Colnbrook, and Darren George, 22, from Egham, were killed in July in Sunbury, after a suspected collision involving an e-bike.

Surrey Police have launched a double murder investigation with three men and a woman being arrested in connection with the incident.

A police spokesperson says officers are "particularly interested in tracing the movements and manner of driving of a black e-bike and a black Ford Ranger travelling through the area" at the time.

'Shock to the local community'

Officers were called at about 00:50 BST on Monday to the A316 southbound slip road on to the M3.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene by South East Coast Ambulance Service. The second died later the same day in hospital.

Surrey Police have asked any witnesses to come forward with information that could help their investigation.

A 29-year-old man from Sunbury has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 24-year-old man from Walton-on-Thames and a 24-year-old man from Feltham have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

A 24-year-old woman from North Yorkshire has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Insp Matt Walton said: "We ask that you do not share any photos, memes, or footage you might see in relation to this incident.

“We are also aware that there has been some online commentary which has caused great distress to the victims’ families."
