School fire may have been deliberate, say police

Police have said that a fire in a school toilet is "suspected of being started deliberately".

Emergency services said they were called to a school, believed to be Richard Lee Primary School, on The Drive in Coventry on Monday morning.

Firefighters said they found a small fire in a toilet area, adding that the school was evacuated before they arrived and no one was injured.

West Midlands Police said they were "called following a fire in a school toilet on The Drive" and it was "suspected of being started deliberately".

The school was closed on Monday and re-opened on Tuesday.

It has been approached for further comment.
