Autism Jersey improves its services, report finds

A care charity supporting islanders with autism has made progress in five of six areas identified for improvement.

The Jersey Care Commission (JCC) published its Autism Jersey report focusing on adult services for November.

The charity showed improvements in specialist staff training, sufficient staffing levels, up-to-date care plans and risk assessments, on-call arrangements and its complaints policy.

JCC however said it still needed to improve when it came to welcome packs for care receivers and their families.

The commission also wanted the St-Helier charity to clarify the types of service it provided and to write monthly reports on the quality of care given.
