Owners Paul and Lola Butel say they are very lucky that Jessie keeps bouncing back

A Jersey dog has survived a fourth cancer diagnosis to the joy and amazement of her owners.

Jessie, a 14-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, has been treated at New Era vets, St Helier, with a new drug called Palladia.

The terrier responded well to the treatment and has been given the all clear.

Jessie was first diagnosed with cancer seven years ago and a Facebook Page following her story has more than 700 followers.

'Really, really lucky'

Owners Paul and Lola Butel were worried that Jessie would need to have a leg amputated when she was first diagnosed.

Mr Butel said: "It was a really bad prognosis. It was absolutely devastating because we didn't think she'd survive like she did."

Mrs Butel said Jessie's breeding helped because Jack Russell Terriers were "quite fit and strong little dogs".

But she believed they had been "really, really lucky" that Jessie kept bouncing back.
