Police appeal after woman robbed in canal attack

Police are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted while walking along a canal in Nottingham.

The victim, who is in her 40s, was on the towpath behind Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday at about 08:00 GMT when she reported being attacked "by several youths" and having money taken from her.

Nottinghamshire Police said she received an injury to her leg but declined treatment.

"Officers are carrying out a thorough investigation to determine what has happened," a spokesperson said.
