Man admits smuggling drugs and tobacco into prison
A man who admitted smuggling drugs and tobacco into a prison has been handed a suspended prison sentence.
Fabian Small, 22, of Drummond Road, Leicester, was visiting an inmate at HMP Peterborough on 8 March when CCTV cameras recorded him passing a package to a prisoner, which contained 29.9g (1oz) of cannabis, 43.4g (1.5oz) of tobacco and seven unknown pills.
He was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for a year, 180 hours of unpaid work and 30 days of rehabilitation activities at Cambridge Crown Court on Monday.
Cambridgeshire Police said the substances had a street value of £4,500.
