Driver seriously injured in A36 crash near Frome

A driver is in hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash which has closed an A-road.

Avon and Somerset Police said a black Peugeot and a white Hyundai crashed shortly before 17:00 BST on Tuesday in Beckington, near Frome, Somerset.

It added that officers had closed the A36 between Beckington roundabout and Berkley Street in Standerwick so specialists could can examine the scene and recover the cars.

The other driver was also in hospital and both the drivers' next of kin had been contacted, police said.
