Car park reopens as repairs finished after crash

A multi-storey car park has reopened nearly a week after a crash damaged an entry support post and left two people needing hospital treatment.
Lurke Street Car Park in Bedford was shut "due to accidental damage" at its entrance and exit, on Saturday 19 April, Bedford Borough Council said.
Repair work was carried out and it was open again on Friday afternoon.
It was the second time in a month the authority had to close the site, after a vehicle hit a pillar in early April.

The council said no cars were trapped during the closure as "vehicles could leave at any time by using the intercom on the second exit ramp".
"We thank everyone for their patience," it added.

The East of England Ambulance Service confirmed two people were taken to Bedford Hospital for "further assessment and treatment" after the crash last weekend.
