The two stabbings happened less than 10 minutes apart, police say

Police are investigating whether two stabbings which took place in Sheffield within minutes of each other were linked.

A 34-year-old man was taken to hospital with "non-life-threatening" injuries following a suspected stabbing on Fieldhead Road at about 17:30 GMT on Monday, according to South Yorkshire Police.

About 10 minutes later, officers were called by the ambulance service to Abbeydale Road, after reports a man, 22, had been stabbed.

The 22-year-old man was later discharged from hospital after treatment, but the 34-year-old remained in hospital on Tuesday, a force spokesperson said.

Anyone who saw what happened, or with information about either incident, was asked to to get in touch with police.
