Three injured in hospital building crash
Two people have been rescued after they were trapped beneath a car which crashed into a temporary building at Torbay Hospital, the fire service said.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the incident involving a temporary building at about 10:47 GMT on Wednesday.
Devon and Cornwall Police said three people were injured in the collision.
"The incident is ongoing but the hospital remains open," the force said.
The fire service said the driver had been freed from the vehicle when crews arrived but two people were trapped under the car.
It said fire crews from Torquay and Paignton attended the scene and lifted the car.
"Both casualties are now clear and being assessed by the ambulance service," it said.
In a statement on Facebook, Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust said traffic diversions were in place, adding car park A was closed following the incident.
"There has been a road traffic incident at Torbay Hospital. Emergency services are on site," it said.
"People who are due to attend appointments onsite today are encouraged to use public transport wherever possible and to allow extra time for their journey."
The BBC has approached Torbay Hospital and the fire service for comment.
