An 18-year-old woman has been arrested after a boy suffered life-changing injuries in a stabbing.

Police were called to Phoenix Park in Hemlington, Middlesbrough, at about 00:40 BST on 30 April following reports a 17-year-old had suffered "multiple" knife wounds.

A 17-year-old boy and 18-year-old man who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and drugs offences had been released on conditional bail, Cleveland Police said.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and was released on conditional bail after being questioned.

The victim remained in a stable condition in hospital, the force said.

Det Insp Matt Hollingsworth said officers had been "conducting various inquiries including house-to-house and obtaining footage in a bid to understand the circumstances that led up to the attack".

He urged anyone with information or footage to contact Cleveland Police.
