Man, 75, killed and woman injured in Borders crash
A 75-year-old man has died and a woman has been taken to hospital after a crash in the Scottish Borders.
A Suzuki Ignis and a Vauxhall Grandland crashed on the A7, near the junction with Drover Road, north of Hawick, at about 16:35 on Sunday.
Police Scotland said the man driving the Suzuki was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 52-year-old woman driving the Vauxhall was taken to Borders General Hospital where her condition was described as serious but stable.
The road was closed for about eight hours for crash investigation work.
Sgt Jamie Humpage said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died."
Inquiries are ongoing and anyone driving on the road between Selkirk and Hawick at the time of the crash should contact Police Scotland.
