Britain’s Got Talent singer wows care home residents

Lucciano captured audiences’ hearts last year on Britain's Got Talent when the judges gave him four yes votes

An eight-year-old Britain's Got Talent singer had care home residents clapping and dancing when he performed.

Residents at Avon Valley Care Home in Bristol heard some of their favourite tunes performed by Lucciano, who received four yes votes from judges on the talent show last year before he reached the semi-finals.

Resident Pam Bridgeman said: “He is a born superstar. He can definitely come back again!”

Music has deep roots in Lucciano's family. His mother, Marisa, was a member of the band, Girlband on The X Factor in 2008.

His grandfather, Frankie Johns, is also a seasoned performer with more than 30 years of experience singing in care homes.

Recognising Lucciano's talent at a young age, Frankie began taking him along to perform when he was just two years old.

He felt this early exposure to live music significantly shaped Lucciano into the confident performer he is today, and he now performs solo in Bristol care homes and hospices.

“I just like to sing and make people happy,” Lucciano said.

“Performing last week at Avon Valley Care Home was brilliant. The residents were charming, loved to dance, and were the nicest to sing to.”

Lucciano's musical journey has deep roots in his family as his mother featured on The X Factor in 2008, and his grandfather is also a seasoned performer.

Lucciano’s mother expressed immense pride in her son’s accomplishments.

“This is the proudest moment ever,” Marisa said. “Seeing Lucciano perform in care homes is amazing. He brings so much joy to the residents.”

Administrator at Avon Valley Care Home, Sarah Donaldson, who booked the performance, said: “When I booked Lucciano to visit Avon Valley Care Home, I knew he was good, but I didn’t expect him to be that good!

“His confidence, along with stage presence, was just incredible! The residents loved it and have already asked when we could have him back!”

Frankie Johns said it is always a "pleasure" to visit Avon Valley Care Home as the "staff are always so efficient, the residents are happy, and they always appreciate the entertainment".

“My family and I are so proud of Lucciano following in my footsteps and making a difference," he added.
