Air ambulance to display supporters' names
Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) is offering to display the names of supporters on its helicopters.
The charity has launched a campaign, called A Year Over Yorkshire, to mark its 25th anniversary.
Supporters who donate at least £100 can have their names featured on the tail bumper of one of the charity's three yellow helicopters for a year.
YAA said it would allow participants to form a personal connection with the charity.
YAA is an independent charity that relies on the generosity of the public to ensure life-saving medical care is available to those in urgent need across Yorkshire.
The charity said its critical care team treated 1,297 patients during 2024, including 326 suffering from cardiac arrests, and delivered more than 417 life-saving interventions.
It said this highlighted the vital role supporters play in keeping the service operational.
In December, the charity took delivery of a new H145 D3 helicoper – G-YAIR – which increased its fleet from two to three.
Garry Brasher, YAA's longest-serving pilot, said: "This is an incredibly exciting campaign.
"Every mission we fly is made possible by the generosity of our supporters and I have seen first-hand how deeply our work resonates with the communities we serve.
"A Year Over Yorkshire is a chance for our supporters to be more than donors. They'll be part of every mission we fly for a year."
Each supporter will be able to track the location of the helicopter carrying their name using an online finder, enabling them to see their contribution to YAA's life-saving work.
Tessa Klemz, regional fundraising manager for North and East Yorkshire, said: "Having your name on our helicopter is something that has been requested time and time again by our supporters, especially those who've been directly impacted by our work.
"We are incredibly proud to finally offer this opportunity to the people of Yorkshire."
