A "charming" father-of-one who died following an incident at a pub has been named by police.

Charles O'Sullivan, 43, was found dead by ambulance workers at an address in East Haddon, Northamptonshire, at 05:45 GMT on 24 November.

Northamptonshire Police said Mr O'Sullivan, known as Charlie, had died after an incident at Rosie O'Leary's pub on Fish Street, in Northampton, the night before.

His cause of death is still under investigation and officers said a 24-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of Mr O'Sullivan's murder, has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

In a tribute, Mr O'Sullivan's partner said: "Charlie always went above and beyond for people. Anyone who needed help in any way, he would always be there.

"He had such a way of charming people, everyone loved him.

"He loved fiercely – if you were loved by Charlie then you knew it. He would never stand for injustice and had a strong sense of right and wrong.

"I see all these traits in our little girl, who idolises her dad. We are heartbroken without him."

Police said Mr O'Sullivan's family were being supported by specially trained officers and have asked for their privacy to be respected.
