A ward and a unit at the Belford have been closed to new admissions

Cases of sickness and diarrhoea have closed all wards at Fort William's Belford Hospital.

Both ward one and the combined assessment unit have temporarily stopped accepting new admissions due to an outbreak of norovirus.

Restricted visiting has also been put in place, with members of the public asked to contact staff on the wards if they felt their visit was necessary.

NHS Highland has urged anyone who has symptoms of diarrhoea or vomiting, or lives with somebody who does, not to visit a health or social care facility.
