Man charged as cannabis factory uncovered in Ballygawley
A 27-year-old man has been charged following the seizure of £200,000 worth of cannabis in Ballygawley, County Tyrone.
The seizure was made after police were called to the address on Dungannon Road shortly after 15:00 GMT and uncovered a factory producing the drug.
Police arrested a 27-year-old man during the operation on Tuesday afternoon.
He was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply and cultivation of cannabis.
In a statement on Wednesday afternoon, police confirmed a 27-year-old man had been charged with possession of a Class B controlled drug and possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply, aiding and abetting possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply and cultivating cannabis.
He is due to appear at Strabane Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
In an earlier statement, the Police Service of Northern Ireland described the factory as "sophisticated".
The force said it was "committed to tackling the illegal supply and use of drugs, and will continue to investigate those who profit from the consequent misery and harm".
