New face-to-face banking hub to be set up in town

A new banking hub is set to be brought to a town in Kent amid branch closures across the country.
On Wednesday, Link, a cash access and ATM network, said a new banking hub would be coming to Dover.
Banking hubs are a shared banking space, similar to a traditional bank branch, but available to customers of any bank.
Dr Chris Ashton, Link's chief commercial officer, said: "While more people are choosing to bank and pay for things digitally, we know that many people still rely on and choose to use cash and face-to-face banking."
When opened, the hub will have a counter service operated by the Post Office where customers of any bank can withdraw and deposit cash, make bill payments and carry out transactions.
There will also be private spaces where customers can speak to community bankers from their own bank, who will work on a rotating basis.
Link previously recommended a site was set up in Sheerness, where a hub opened earlier in March.
A new hub has also been recommended in Tonbridge following a community request.
Link says it will start engaging with the community in Dover and looking for potential sites for the hub, which will be delivered by Cash Access UK.
