Green awards celebration for parks and reserves
Four green spaces in Leamington Spa and Kenilworth have been recognised by a leading environmental charity.
Keep Britain Tidy's Green Flag status was awarded to Jephson Gardens, Pump Room Gardens, Oakley Wood and Crackley Wood.
Warwick district councillor Will Roberts praised the partnership between the authority, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, volunteers and contractors.
The status is granted to public spaces which are well-maintained, clean and sustainable.
In addition to the Green Flag, Jephson Gardens and the Pump Room Gardens, both in Leamington Spa, have been given Green Heritage Site Accreditation.
This recognises the quality of care for historic sites by community groups and volunteers.
Mr Roberts, who is in charge of neighbourhood services for the council, said: "These awards recognise and highlight that local people and visitors to Warwick District are benefitting from green spaces of the very highest quality."
