A woman suffered life-changing injuries after being hit by a reversing car, police said.

The 62-year-old was one of two pedestrians struck by a blue Kira Niro as it was being driven by a man out of a parking area on Bridgegate in Howden, East Yorkshire.

The incident happened just before 13:00 GMT on Wednesday.

Humberside Police said the second pedestrian was being treated for a foot injury.

Officers thanked those who helped the injured and appealed for anyone with information, including footage, to contact them.
