Two 62-year-old men have been charged following damage to an Ultra Low Emission Zone (Ulez) camera in Sidcup, though the incidents are not being linked.

Police were called to reports of an explosion on Willersley Avenue, Sidcup, at about 18:45 on 6 December 2023.

The other man has been charged with criminal damage and using a false plate whilst driving and is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court on 27 November.

The investigation into the explosion was carried out by officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.

Det Ch Supt Trevor Lawry, who leads local policing in the Bexley area, said: "We know that this incident caused much concern locally at the time.

He added: "Local officers have continued to support the investigation team as they have diligently gone about gathering evidence in this case, working closely with the CPS, which has led to these charges being brought."
