A man has been jailed after he admitted to sexual activity with an underage girl.

Joshua Martin, from Huddersfield, was sentenced to eight years in prison at Leeds Crown Court on Friday.

The 26-year-old, of Primrose Hill, pleaded guilty to four offences of sexual activity with an underage female between 2024 and the beginning of this year.

He was also convicted of failing to comply with the requirements of being on the sex offenders' register.

Det Con Leia Houtekamer, from West Yorkshire Police, said: "Martin is a registered sex offender who groomed and then committed sexual offences against a teenage victim, while in full knowledge that she was under the age of consent.

"All reports of sexual offences are taken extremely seriously and fully investigated by specialist safeguarding detectives."
