Two men have been arrested after a man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Staffordshire.

Steven Field, 40, from Stoke-on-Trent, died when the white Skoda Octavia in which he was travelling crashed at the junction of High Street and Marsh Avenue in Wolstanton, Newcastle-under-Lyme, just after 02:00 BST on Sunday.

A 27-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme and a 26-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

They have since been released on bail pending further inquiries, Staffordshire Police said.

A force spokesperson said Mr Field's family were being support by specialist officers and anyone with information about the crash has been urged to contact police.
