Harbour users in Alderney have been advised of the introduction of seasonal infrastructure and changes to harbour services for the spring.

The States of Alderney Harbour Authority said sections of the pontoon facility would be installed on 11 April, including the passenger landing pontoon and access bridge.

It said other changes would include the servicing of all outer harbour moorings and the introduction of water taxi services.

The authority advised any mooring holders who had not already recovered ropes and tackle from their allocated mooring buoy to get in contact.

Weekend service

It said the servicing work, scheduled to begin on Wednesday, would take about 14 days to complete, and crane activity "would be restricted to general cargo working and essential lifts".

The harbour authority added the water taxi service would be restricted to a weekend-only service during the spring months:

• Weekends and bank holidays: 08:00-00:00

• No taxi available from Monday to Thursday in April and May

• Weekdays in June to August: 08:00-00:00

It added: "Please note that the availability of some services and facilities may vary when weather conditions exceed safe working limits."
