Surrey postcodes which top uninsured driving list
Elmbridge has been revealed as the worst area for uninsured driving in Surrey, according to official data.
Data released by the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) also put Runnymede, Reigate and Banstead, Waverley and Surrey Heath in the worst five districts in the county.
Whilst the KT10 postcode topped the list of Surrey's hotspots it came in at just 74th place nationally, according to Surrey Police.
Temporary police sergeant Martin Abel said; "Being caught driving uninsured can affect every part of your life."
He said: "You could lose your independence and it could even impact your ability to get a new job as any driving convictions will come up on searches.”
Surrey Police ran a week-long road safety initiative earlier this month to get uninsured drivers off the road.
Officers also carried out an operation at Sandown Racecourse on 15 November which resulted in one arrest and three vehicles being stopped with no insurance, one of which was seized.
