Community centre reopens after refurbishment

A community centre has reopened following an extensive renovation.
The Coronation Centre in Cadbury Heath, South Gloucestershire, will provide a new space for community events, youth services and support services.
The site - formerly known as The Batch - will be managed by a newly established Community Interest Company (CIC) and chaired by Dennis Stinchcombe MBE - who is a Cadbury Heath resident with more than 40 years experience in running community facilities.
"Our vision for the Coronation Centre is to create a thriving community hub where residents can come together, take part in activities, and access valuable services" said Mr Stinchcombe.
Other directors include fellow local residents Jason and Kim Ball, Nick Phelps and councillor Edna Stinchcombe MBE.
The newly refurbished centre includes a café and bar area, multi-functional activity rooms and a dedicated youth and social centre amongst others.
Youth services by the Creative Youth Network will continue being delivered two nights a week.
The management are also working to bring back services catering for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
"We are thrilled to see the Coronation Centre reopen under the management of a passionate local community group and continue to serve as a vital hub for the Cadbury Heath community" said Councillor Sean Rhodes, South Gloucestershire Council's cabinet member for communities.
"The centre will be a fantastic asset for the area and represents our commitment to providing spaces where people of all ages can come together, access essential services, and participate in a variety of activities."
