Bristol in pictures: Images from across the city
The advance of autumn hasn't deterred the hardiest cold water swimmers, or stopped the staff working high on top of Clifton Suspension Bridge.
Bristol's football and rugby teams are into the swing of their seasons, and a group of performers are gearing up to tell the story of the Christmas Steps and its characters.
All this and more is included in our weekly image round-up.
Bird's eye view: Regular users of Clifton Suspension Bridge cannot fail to have noticed that vital maintenance has been going on recently. This shot gives you an idea of the view the staff carrying out the work get.
Show of support: Bristol City fans laid on a moving display before the game with Leeds United at Ashton Gate, as manager Liam Manning returned to the dugout following the death of his baby son Theo.
Brave souls: A trio of friends pose for a post-swim selfie after a dip in Clevedon Marine Lake. The crowds of summer may be gone but plenty of people carry on swimming there deep into autumn and winter.
Remembering: New artwork has appeared on bus stops in the city centre to honour the men and women who took a stand during the Bristol Bus Boycott, the campaign which fought back against racist employment tactics in the 1960s.
Much-needed win: Jamie Lindsay's goal gave Rovers a 1-0 victory over Shrewsbury at the Memorial Stadium on Tuesday. Boss Matt Taylor said he is still learning what the expectations of where the club should be are.
Around every corner: Street art is a constant of Bristol life, and sometimes you have to leave the main roads to see some of the best murals, such as this one by Liam Bononi just off North Street in Southville.
Storytellers: The performers of the Invisible Circus are getting ready to reveal the history of the Christmas Steps in the city centre. From 14:00 to 18:30 GMT on Saturday 2 November the popular group will be creating an immersive experience at the steps where visitors will find sailors, soldiers, circus legends and shady criminals roaming the area.
Breakfast with a view: From early morning builders to students and people on long-distance bicycle rides, plenty of people factor a visit to dockside eatery Brunel's Buttery into their journeys. Expect big queues at the weekend for their bacon and egg rolls.
Best foot forward: Nearly 90 staff from hotels across Bristol and Bath raised more than £10,000 for the Hospitality Action charity by walking between the DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol City Centre and the Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath. It was the fifth year the Walk for Wellbeing event has taken place.
